This document provides an overview of the general terms and conditions for Jambo Africa, including booking, payment, cancellation policies, and travel insurance requirements. These terms ensure a smooth and secure travel experience. By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these terms.
General Terms and Conditions
Bookings and Payments

Booking Confirmation:

A deposit of 50% of the total tour cost is required to confirm a booking unless otherwise specified.

Full payment is required 30 days before the start of the tour.

Late bookings (made within 30 days of departure) must be paid in full at the time of confirmation.

A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total tour price is required when booking.

All services are subject to availability at the time of booking.

Payment Methods:

Payments can be made via mobile payments, credit/debit cards, bank transfers, or cheques.

Any bank charges or transaction fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Price Changes:

Prices are quoted in USD or Kenyan Shillings (KES) unless stated otherwise.

Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in taxes, exchange rates, or supplier costs.

Tour prices include planning, handling, and operational charges, but are subject to revision based on currency, tax, or tariff changes.

Any extra services not included in the package will incur additional costs.

Amendments to Bookings

Modification Requests:

Changes to confirmed bookings must be requested in writing and are subject to availability.

Jambo Africa reserves the right to charge fees for amendments based on the nature and timing of the request.

Itinerary Changes:

Accommodation and sightseeing may be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances.

While we aim to operate as planned, we reserve the right to adjust itineraries if needed.

Tour Inclusions and Exclusions

Inclusions: Tour inclusions depend on the specific package and typically include accommodation, meals, transportation, and activities as detailed in the itinerary.

Exclusions: Items such as international flights, personal travel insurance, visa and passport fees, excess baggage fees, personal expenses (drinks, laundry, phone calls), and tips are not included unless specified.

Special Requests: We strive to accommodate any special requests made at the time of booking, but fulfillment is not guaranteed.
Travel Advisory
Travel Documentation

Passports and Visas:

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports and visas for their travel. Passports must be valid for at least six months after the trip ends.

Jambo Africa is not liable for issues resulting from improper documentation.

Baggage: Baggage handling is provided only as specified in the quotation. Domestic flights may have weight restrictions, and clients are responsible for insuring their luggage.
Health and Safety

Health Precautions:

Clients are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit for travel, have the required vaccinations, and bring any necessary medications.

A valid Yellow Fever certificate may be required.

Activities: Some activities may be pre-booked, but we encourage booking additional activities early to avoid disappointment. Weather-dependent activities, especially water-based ones, may be subject to cancellation.

Taxes and Gratuities

Hotel and airport taxes are included where noted.

Gratuities for guides, drivers, and other staff are not included and are at your discretion.

Responsibility & Liability

Third-Party Services: Jambo Africa acts as an intermediary between clients and third-party providers (e.g., airlines, hotels). We assume no liability for injury, loss, or delays caused by third-party services, whose responsibility is subject to their terms and conditions.

Force Majeure: Jambo Africa is not responsible for any losses or damages resulting from events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or airline disruptions.

Claims: All claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the tour's end.

Photography: Jambo Africa reserves the right to take promotional photos during tours. If you prefer not to appear in these photos, please notify us before your final payment.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the Traveler

Refund Schedule:

61+ days before departure: Loss of deposit (10%).

45 to 60 days: 25% of the total tour cost.

30 to 44 days: 50% of the total tour cost.

15 to 29 days: 75% of the total tour cost.
-
14 days or less: Full forfeiture of the total tour cost, no refund.

Unused Services: No refunds will be given for unused services once the tour has begun.
Cancellation by Jambo Africa

In the rare event that Jambo Africa cancels a tour, clients will receive a full refund or be offered an alternative tour. If the cancellation is due to force majeure (unforeseen circumstances), no compensation will be provided.

Non-Refundable Items: Some components, like visa fees, insurance premiums, and pre-booked activities, may be non-refundable.
Travel Insurance Requirements
Mandatory Insurance

Required Coverage: All travelers must have travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, loss of luggage, and personal liability. Proof of insurance is required before the tour begins.

Jambo Africa’s Role:

While we recommend purchasing travel insurance upon booking, Jambo Africa is not responsible for any costs not covered by your insurer.

Failure to present valid insurance may result in being denied participation, with no refunds provided.
